Inside Toronto’s Own Fashion Week

Toronto’s Own Fashion Week was created to give emerging designers a professional platform to present their work, one built around creativity, community, and the character of Toronto itself.

Each season brings together designers, models, stylists, photographers, media, and industry professionals in spaces that are reimagined through fashion.

A Fashion Week Across the City

TOFW SS24 began at Lower Bay Station, where an abandoned subway platform became a runway. The raw architecture and underground setting established the foundation for what the event would become: fashion presented outside of traditional venues and shaped by the city around it.

The following season moved to Billy Bishop Airport. The runway was set inside an airport hangar, creating an industrial backdrop that connected unconventional design.

For Spring/Summer 2025, TOFW took over the Toronto Reference Library. Designers presented their collections inside one of the city’s most recognizable public spaces, bringing fashion into an environment associated with knowledge and community.

Spring/Summer 2026 continued that evolution at the Church of the Holy Trinity. Under the theme Sacred Craftsmanship, the season celebrated the care, tradition, and personal stories behind the clothes. The historic church provided a fitting setting for collections rooted in heritage, technique, and thoughtful design.

More Than a Runway

Each season of Toronto’s Own Fashion Week is shaped around the designers presenting within it. The venues, lighting, sound, casting, programming, and guest experience are developed to support the collections.

We manage the creative direction and production behind the event, from early planning and designer coordination to technical execution and the final runway presentation.

TOFW has grown into a meeting place for Toronto’s fashion and creative communities, connecting emerging designers with audiences, media, collaborators, and new opportunities.

The locations may change each season, but the purpose remains the same: to create a platform where independent fashion can be seen, taken seriously, and experienced in a way that feels distinctly Toronto.

Toronto's Own Fashion Week is a not-for-profit organization created to celebrate and promote Toronto’s fashion culture. We are committed to cultivating a greater appreciation and market for our fashion designers in Canada and internationally while contributing to Toronto's fashion industry's overall growth and economic development.
